Why Should You Verify Insurance and Require Installers to Present a Proof of It?

Installers have been doing their jobs of installing TVs and their surround sound systems for more than 16 years now. As industry innovators, we noticed that sharp rise in consumers which has been taken by some marketing companies to pass themselves as installation companies. The only problem in using the companies is because they use cheap labor and are not really legitimate installation professionals. These companies are usually composed of computer geeks who don’t have clues of what they’re doing, but might have possibly read about the installation process somewhere.

The common issues with uncertified installers are stated below.

A. Poor sound quality – geeks know nothing about sound systems
B. Poor image quality – calibrating big screens of HDTVs is very different from computer monitors that geeks use
C. Improper calibration of system – this will cause issues in audio and video synchronization
D. Property damage – when your TV falls, it could cause huge damage to the equipment, to the wall, and the flooring where your TV fell
E. Home Owners Policy cancellation – unlicensed installation services like those of the geeks could void your policy as a home owner because of not having low voltage experts who are certified to install the system. Most policies are clear that you have to use the licensed certified professionals. Any damage caused by uncertified installers will void your policy.
F. Injury including possible death – unfortunately, there have been reports of death of children and pets due to falling screens that are not installed properly.

You could avoid companies that market without insurance. Ask about their “Insurance Certificates” before having them come over and install for you. If the company you’re looking at is true or legitimate, an insurance policy will be presented. Furthermore, terms of service in coverage is very different from insurance. If insurance companies wouldn’t trust the installers enough, why should you give your trust to them either? Do not mind them.

In comparing installation companies, be sure that you are really dealing with the legitimate ones. Some will use sub contractors, but they’re still assured. Do not entrust an investment with companies who cannot even be approved for insurance policies. Protect your rights.
