The word “accountability” is a buzzword in the coaching world.
But it never resonates with me. When I was looking for a business coach, I “dinged” whoever says “I will give you accountability.”
Not because I don’t value taking action, I am a sucker for making sh*t happen.
The word “accountability” always feels forced. Like an external factor we have to impart because result of the action we intend to complete is not enough to drive us forward.
When an action feels aligned and truly reflects my vision and passion, I don’t need to “report back” on my progress! It would be done, done and done.
If I know the action is aligned but I am not taking the action, it is a call to work through mindset hurdles such as fears, limiting beliefs and preconceptions.
A better way than to just “plough through it” because you paid someone to “hold you accountable,” is to look at what is preventing you from taking the action and do the work to unravel whatever is stalling you.
Sometimes it’s freakin’ hard to face the “inner truth” which is much harder to swallow, but when alignment and clarity happens, the energy behind your action is very different – it is clean, powerful and unstoppable.
It is Sacral, infused with life force.
This kind of clarity and alignment is not a one-off thing. Unlike “accountability” that applies to one specific task, they stay with you forever – and only gets better.
You have to keep paying someone to “hold you accountable.” The DRIVE that comes from this clarity and alignment is yours to keep.
If “accountability” is not the best way to get sh*t done, what’s the alternative?
Instead of “accountability”, what if we can nail the DRIVE behind the action so we are not just going through the motion?
Instead of “accountability”, what if we can find the Conviction that gives us the Gumption to stick with it and see it through?
The horse may be dead if you have been reading my stuff for a while… but it’s still worth beating because it is so critical if you want to stop spinning your wheel and really do what matters for you and your biz.
Instead of Accountability, create Inevitability to fuel your action.
Nail the Message that lives deep inside of your Heart.
Find the TRUST that radiates from your Gut.
Fuel the FIRE that makes you go all in.
Get to the Knowing that it has to happen.
When you nail your message that gives you the Conviction to fuel the Gumption, you have no choice but to make it work.
When your Conviction is stronger than your fears and limiting beliefs, you will look them in the eyes and get over them. Because there is something way more important waiting for you.
You will come out the other side and do want you need to do with clean energy.
Accountability is from the outside, Inevitability comes from the inside.
Always choose something that comes from deep inside of you. It is the most aligned, real and powerful fairy dust you can put into your business.
