You could also change the decoration in the church, registry office or reception venue, to match a theme. This might mean just changing the colors of the seat covers, or it could mean complicated decoration design.

Having a Halloween themed wedding would mean decorating like a haunted house, whereas a sports themed wedding would just mean changing the color scheme to match the team colors.

Gifts

Another way that you could make the wedding stand out from every other wedding that you have been to, is to change the gifts and make them more personalized to you or the recipient.

Normally, the bride and groom give gifts to the wedding party during the reception. This is because they have helped them organize their wedding and they are saying thanks for making the wedding special.

The traditional gifts would be jewelry for the bridesmaids and alcohol or ties for the groomsmen and best man. This is a little boring and you would be better getting something more personal and something that they can keep forever.

It is traditional for the bride and groom to leave favors on the table at the reception. This is to thank people for coming to the wedding. Most of the time, the bags are filled with toys and sweets, but it would be more fun to change that.
