Being an entrepreneur for as many years as I’ve been (over 20 years, by the way) I have a lot of experience under my belt and a lot of training that I’ve invested in so that I would reach my financial goals.
As I look back at the different businesses I’ve had I can identify specific areas that have contributed to my success. I want to share them so that you can get a glimpse of what it takes to create a business that supports itself and also supports the life you want to live.
This is what you should do that has worked for me that I know significantly increased my income:
– Be willing to get out of your comfort zone and try new strategies that are proven to work
– Tell your inner control freak to take a hike so you could delegate effectively
– Create more time working on your business as opposed to working in it
– Invest in yourself and your business by hiring mentors and coaches who will help you get what you want, whether more clients, more time, better health, increased wealth, etc.
– Differentiate between a busy-ness and a business
So now that I’ve been in the habit of trying new things, having a team to help me, delivering great programs, working with coaches who are catapulting me into my next level, and working on my business as an entrepreneur (and not a crazy busy self-employed person trying to wear all the hats in my business) I’ve been able to help and serve a lot more clients and yes, make a lot more money.
One of my strengths is that I’m really good at determining and documenting what has worked in my business and this is what I’ve been teaching my clients.
This has been proven to work because I’ve used these concepts, strategies, ideas, and so forth, in all of my five businesses that I’ve had in the past.
The challenging side of this good habit is that I have so much great content to share!
Can you relate?
Do you have so many great things about what you do, the array of results your clients get from working with you – and you just want to share it ALL?
Well I’ve done that and it was like shooting a fire hose at my clients!
My intention was good, I wanted them to get all the great results I knew they could but my system was overwhelming and it didn’t actually serve them as well as I intended.
Fortunately, I have great relationships with my clients and they let me know that it was too much all at once.
This is a bonus tip for you: always listen to what your clients have to say. And take it to heart, honor them for it, and find better ways to serve them. It will become an exciting and rewarding win-win.
I realized that a fire hose technique wasn’t the best way to serve my clients so for the past couple of years I’ve been working with my own coaches in order to take all of my great content and create Step-by-Step systems, Getting Started Guides, Implementation Worksheets, VIP days, and so much more.
